Madelyn Schiffer of Missouri has accused staff at the Oasis Park water theme park of discrimination because of her appetizing figure.
The woman went to the water park with four other members of her family. After she took a dip in the pool with her niece and nephew, she was approached by staff members who told her she had to wear shorts because the bottom of her bikini was too small for her.
When a supervisor was called at Madeline’s request, he told her she had to put on the clothes or leave the park. When she asked for the police to be called so she could file a complaint, the officers who arrived escorted her to the exit.
«It wasn’t a thong. It was a standard summer bikini. I felt it was discrimination because of my age and body! As far as I could see, there were several girls around me half my age who were wearing the same size swimwear as me, but nothing was said to them!» — the woman outraged.
Madelyn Schiffer wrote about the incident on her Facebook page, where she said the police sympathized with her. «They told me they don’t agree, but they have to do their job!» — she wrote. «We can’t really tell you anything,» she added. — they said when we went outside — «but I hope you can understand how we feel by our faces.» They were sympathetic. They also thought it was funny.»
Water park officials have not yet commented on the incident.
